What God Hath Promised

I found this poem in Bible that belonged to my great aunt "Ecie" not long after she passed in 1990. I feel safe saying it was probably one of her favorites and it struck a chord with me as well. Annie Johnson Flint, I believe, is the author. 

What God Hath Promised

God hath not promised

Skies always blue

Flower-strewn pathways

All our lives through.

God hath not promised

Sun without rain

Joy without sorrow

Peace without pain.

But God hath promised

Strength for the day

Rest for thy labor

Light for the way

Grace for the trials

Help from above

Unfailing sympathy

Undying love.
